adenia-monadelpha
Adenia monadelpha

Adenia monadelpha is relatively widespread in the seasonally dry forests of southwestern Madagascar, a region rich with unusual endemic caudiciforms and succulents. This species develops a greyish-green, distinctly knobby trunk which can develop quite quickly into a very large, potentially even tree-sized plant, given adequate root room. Plants produce deciduous, palmately lobed leaves, that when young have some faint, white variegation-like patterning on them. This species is extremely closely related to Adenia eccirhosa, the only difference being that it lacks tendrils, and has a more arborescent habit.
