Our plants belong to a particularly attractive lineage with nearly white, glaucous foliage and vivid pinkish-purple flowers. The blooms look almost fluorescent against the chalky leaves, although plants grown in strong light can develop their own subtle purple blush. The species grows slowly and remains compact, with changes in coloration providing much of its interest between flowering periods.
